The United States has reaffirmed its commitment to partner with India on advancing energy security and economic growth, as global geopolitical tensions and supply chain disruptions challenge nations worldwide. Speaking at the 3rd Energy Summit of the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce (IACC), Ms. Xiabing Feng, Principal Commercial Officer at the US Embassy in India, emphasized Washington’s readiness to support India through exports of high-quality products and services in oil, gas, nuclear power, and emerging energy technologies. “As we look into the future, the United States remains committed to working with India to help achieve its goals of energy security and economic growth,” Ms. Feng stated, adding that the collaboration could have transformative effects on the global energy landscape. She also highlighted the US’s role as a key supplier of oil and liquefied natural gas to India, and underscored the importance of secure energy systems amid rising global uncertainties. The summit further showcased India’s progress in renewable energy. Vinay Rustagi, Chief Business Officer at Premier Energies Ltd, praised India’s advancements in solar manufacturing but pointed to land acquisition and transmission bottlenecks as persistent challenges. Dr. Atul Chauhan, Regional President of IACC and Chancellor of Amity University, called for expanded Indo-US cooperation in securing critical minerals, advancing nuclear technologies, and investing in grid modernization. “Collaboration can unlock not only technology transfer but also co-investments in resilient ecosystems,” he said. Summit Chair Sunil Jain stressed the need for an integrated energy approach that balances decarbonization with security, affordability, and competitiveness. “This will not be achieved by a single technology but through integrated energy pathways,” he remarked. The discussions underscored a shared vision between the US and India to diversify energy resources, strengthen infrastructure, and jointly shape the global clean energy transition, positioning their partnership as a cornerstone for a sustainable and resilient future.
