Dubai Police has completed the first phase of a long-term solar energy programme covering 28 police stations, departments and other facilities. The project is expected to reduce carbon emissions from Dubai Police buildings by around 26,000 tonnes annually, equivalent to approximately 20% of their total associated emissions.

Launched during COP28 in 2023, the initiative is structured as a 25-year programme to progressively introduce solar energy and other efficiency measures across Dubai Police facilities. Rather than applying a standard solution across all sites, the programme considers each building’s age, design and operational requirements to integrate sustainable technologies without disrupting essential services.

The second phase is scheduled to begin in the final quarter of 2026, extending solar solutions to additional buildings and facilities. The programme supports the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and Dubai’s wider efforts to reduce carbon emissions and accelerate the transition towards greener buildings.
