Qatar’s Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MoECC) carried out a large-scale beach cleanup campaign during Eid Al Adha as part of ongoing efforts to protect coastal ecosystems and strengthen environmental awareness. The campaign covered several key coastal and protected areas across the country. The initiative was conducted by the Directorate of Natural Reserves at locations including Sealine Beach, the Khor Al Adaid Reserve and Al Dhakira Reserve during the first and second days of Eid. Ministry teams removed significant quantities of waste from beaches and surrounding areas to help reduce pollution and preserve the environmental condition of Qatar’s coastal destinations. Alongside cleanup operations, the ministry organised awareness activities for visitors to encourage environmentally responsible behaviour and highlight the importance of protecting marine resources and natural reserves. Officials said public participation remains important for preserving Qatar’s biodiversity and natural heritage. The campaign forms part of Qatar’s broader sustainability and environmental protection efforts, which include coastal conservation, waste reduction and community engagement initiatives aimed at improving long-term environmental resilience.
