The Second World Summit for Social Development, held in Doha from 4–6 November 2025, served as a key platform for advancing international dialogue on inclusive social development and sustainability. The three-day event brought together governments, global organisations, and civil society leaders to renew commitments to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development amid growing challenges such as inequality, demographic shifts, and climate change. During the summit, Qatar highlighted its ongoing efforts to integrate social inclusion, education, and environmental restoration into its national sustainability framework. Several discussions centred on the importance of family-centred policies, equitable access to education, and community resilience in fostering long-term development. One initiative focused on accelerating land restoration and regeneration in dryland ecosystems, addressing both food security and climate adaptation priorities. The sessions also underscored the interconnection between human capital and environmental health, encouraging nations to rethink how social and ecological well-being can drive economic stability. Interactive exhibits and dialogues showcased innovative approaches to education, social protection, and sustainable livelihoods — illustrating how inclusive policies can support the transition to a more resilient global economy. The summit concluded with a joint declaration calling for stronger partnerships between governments, international agencies, and community actors to translate commitments into measurable outcomes. Qatar’s active engagement reaffirmed its growing role in advancing global cooperation on inclusion and sustainability, setting an example for region-wide collaboration in achieving shared development goals.
