At the 2nd Sustainable Agriculture Summit & Awards 2025 in Delhi, government leaders, industry experts, and farmers agreed that India’s economic vision for 2047 depends on putting farmers at the centre of growth. Union Minister Ramdas Athawale emphasised that sustainable agriculture must drive the nation’s transformation, while former IAS officer Dr Jayadev Sarangi called it a pillar of economic stability and competitiveness. Speakers highlighted the need for long-term financing, stronger public–private partnerships, and innovation in climate-resilient farming. Success stories, such as chilli cultivation in Punjab’s Ferozepur district, showed how crop diversification can raise incomes, improve soil health, and ease environmental pressure. The event honoured organisations and officials leading sustainable agriculture initiatives, including Godrej Agrovet, IPL Biologicals, and Bihar Agricultural University. Stakeholders committed to combining innovation, market linkages, and grassroots leadership to build a rural economy that supports both inclusive growth and environmental balance.
