The European Commission has announced an investment of more than €103 million in seven strategic environmental and climate projects across Europe under the EU’s LIFE programme. The funding aims to support the implementation of key EU climate and environmental policies while strengthening ecosystem resilience and public well-being. The selected projects span seven countries—Finland, France, Greece, the Netherlands, Portugal, Slovakia, and Spain—and focus on areas such as climate resilience, water management, nature restoration, sustainable land use, and the circular economy. These initiatives are expected to strengthen environmental protection while supporting economic stability and food systems across the region. EU officials emphasised that investments in climate action are essential for Europe’s economic security and competitiveness. The projects are designed not only to accelerate the clean transition but also to attract additional national public and private investments to expand their impact. The funding forms part of the EU’s broader strategy to achieve long-term climate goals and build resilient ecosystems. By supporting large-scale environmental initiatives, the Commission aims to strengthen Europe’s natural infrastructure while advancing sustainability and improving quality of life across member states.
