The UAE took center stage at the United Nations Headquarters in New York during the High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) 2025, launching the landmark 2045 SDG Report titled “Envisioning 2045: Comprehensive Pathways towards Sustainable Development.” Produced by the National Committee on SDGs, this forward-looking report drew from global dialogues and multi-stakeholder insights, including the 2025 World Government Summit and Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week’s 2045 SDG Roundtable. The report presented five strategic priorities to guide the global development agenda beyond 2030: redefining SDGs for 2045, future-proofing societies, strengthening global leadership, accelerating development transitions, and fostering a shared international vision. It emphasized the UAE’s proactive approach in designing data-driven and research-based solutions, aimed at strengthening global partnerships and anticipating emerging challenges. Insights were collected from the UAE-led 2045 SDG Global Survey, with responses from 55 countries. The findings reflected overwhelming global support for shifting beyond traditional economic metrics, prioritizing participatory governance, and embracing innovation such as AI-driven development and adaptable SDG frameworks. Aligning with the HLPF 2025’s focus, the UAE spotlighted progress and initiatives across five key SDGs—health, gender equality, economic growth, ocean sustainability, and global partnerships. This move reaffirmed the country’s commitment to shaping inclusive and forward-thinking strategies for the sustainable development agenda well beyond 2030.
