Singapore’s Prime Minister Lawrence Wong has begun a three-day official visit to India, his first since taking office, marking 60 years of diplomatic ties between the two nations. The visit aims to deepen trade, economic cooperation, and strategic engagement while placing a strong emphasis on sustainability and green development. Agreements are expected in areas such as clean energy, civil aviation, digitalization, space, healthcare, and financial technology. During the trip, PM Wong met with India’s Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman to strengthen the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Discussions highlighted opportunities for collaboration on renewable energy, sustainable infrastructure, and climate-aligned investments, alongside initiatives in skills development, connectivity, and healthcare. The visit underscores how India and Singapore are aligning their economic partnership with shared environmental priorities.
