Qatar has launched the 2026 Nationalisation Award for the private sector, a new initiative aimed at strengthening workforce nationalisation and increasing private sector participation. Established under Amiri Decree No. 27 of 2025, the award aligns with Qatar National Vision 2030 and the “Empowering Qatar” National Plan, recognising organisations and individuals contributing to the development of national talent. The Ministry of Labour highlighted that the award reflects Qatar’s focus on human capital as a key driver of economic growth. It aims to promote merit-based employment, support skill development, and create long-term career pathways for Qatari citizens within the private sector. The initiative also seeks to encourage companies to invest in training, leadership development, and inclusive work environments. The award is part of a broader strategy to build a future-ready workforce, supported by policies such as the Private Sector Nationalisation Law (2024) and the National Workforce Strategy (2024–2030). Qatar aims to increase national workforce participation from 17% to 20%, with targeted job creation and stronger collaboration between the public and private sectors. Recognising excellence across multiple sectors, the award will evaluate organisations and individuals based on recruitment, training, retention, and professional development. With a structured governance framework and digital platform for participation, the initiative is designed to translate policy into measurable outcomes, strengthening Qatar’s competitiveness and long-term economic resilience.
