Portugal’s forests expand faster than Denmark and Ireland

Portugal has emerged as a standout performer in forest expansion, surpassing countries such as Denmark and Ireland in net forest growth. The increase reflects decades of reforestation, land-use planning, and environmental restoration policies aimed at improving ecosystem resilience.
