The Malaysian Rubber Board (MRB) is developing its Strategic Plan 2026 - 2030 to ensure a more sustainable future for the country's rubber industry. Plantation and Commodities Minister Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani stated that the plan, structured around four pillars, aims to boost productivity, promote innovation through R&D, empower support services, and strengthen MRB's operational efficiency and governance. Crucially, the ministry and MRB are committed to complying with international sustainability standards, including the upcoming European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR). The Malaysian Sustainable Natural Rubber (MSNR) agenda is being advanced to strengthen the sector's sustainability framework. The MSNR initiative, which provides recognition to license holders, has now been extended from Peninsular Malaysia to Sabah and Sarawak. This commitment was highlighted by Malaysia's first MSNR-compliant rubber export to the EU in December 2024.
