ICAR Reinforces Sustainable Agriculture and Innovation to Support Viksit Bharat 2047

The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) has reaffirmed its commitment to advancing sustainable agriculture, scientific innovation, and farmer-centric development as India works towards its Viksit Bharat 2047 vision. Marking its 98th Foundation Day, ICAR highlighted its significant contributions to strengthening the country's agricultural sector through research, technology, and climate-resilient farming practices.

Over the years, ICAR has played a vital role in enhancing food security by developing high-yielding and climate-resilient crop varieties, improving livestock and fisheries productivity, and promoting resource-efficient farming techniques. These innovations have helped farmers increase productivity while reducing environmental impacts, supporting India's transition towards a more sustainable agricultural system.

The institution also emphasized the importance of adopting modern technologies such as digital agriculture, precision farming, biotechnology, and artificial intelligence to improve farm efficiency and resilience. ICAR continues to encourage the use of scientific research to address emerging challenges including climate change, water scarcity, soil degradation, and changing pest and disease patterns.
