Expo City Dubai has achieved Platinum pre-certification under the LEED Cities and Communities standard and pre-certification under the WELL Community standard, marking a major recognition of its commitment to sustainable urban development. The LEED standard emphasises inclusivity, environmental conservation and economic growth, while WELL Community focuses on health and well-being in the built environment. The development’s sustainability roadmap outlines ambitious targets: a reduction in embodied carbon of 40 % by 2030 and net-zero by 2050, aligning with global frameworks such as the Science Based Targets Network (SBTN) and the World Resources Institute (WRI) protocols.
