EAAA Alternatives Plans ₹400 Billion Investment in India’s Clean Energy Sector

Indian investment firm EAAA Alternatives plans to invest up to ₹400 billion in India’s clean energy sector over the next four to five years, targeting approximately 8 gigawatts of projects through its funds. The company recently secured a $60 million commitment from the European Investment Bank for its India Energy Transition Fund, which aims to raise about $300 million by year-end and could expand to $500 million for climate-focused initiatives if needed. The fund has already attracted around $170 million from Indian family offices and is focused on financing projects spanning renewable power generation, clean energy infrastructure, capacity expansion, and support for companies working on decarbonisation solutions. EAAA Alternatives CEO Subahoo Chordia highlighted the scarcity of equity investment in India’s clean energy space as a key motivation for the fund. India aims to double its non-fossil fuel power generation capacity to 500 gigawatts by 2030, reflecting the country’s broader commitment to expanding its clean energy portfolio. EAAA Alternatives currently manages assets worth approximately $7.3 billion as of June 2025, positioning it as a significant player in supporting India’s energy transition goals.
