Dubai Powered Up Green Mobility with 200 Ultra-Fast EV Chargers

20 August 2025 at 09:26 pm IST

Dubai took a bold step toward sustainable mobility with the launch of a citywide initiative to install 200 ultra-fast direct current (DC) EV charging stations. This development aligned with the emirate’s 2040 Urban Master Plan and green mobility ambitions, further strengthening Dubai’s leadership in sustainable urban transport. The rollout had begun in October 2025 with 20 charging stations in high-traffic residential, retail, and leisure hubs. Over the year, the network expanded to 200 points, serving the needs of a rapidly growing EV market of more than 40,000 electric vehicles. By cutting charging times to under 30 minutes, the project provided unmatched convenience for drivers while advancing a cleaner transport ecosystem. Each station operated under a “park and charge” protocol, ensuring charging bays were used fairly and efficiently. A seamless mobile app integration allowed users to reserve spots, view real-time availability, and make secure in-app payments—delivering a digital-first, user-friendly experience. This initiative represented a milestone in Dubai’s green mobility journey, combining cutting-edge technology, smart infrastructure, and citizen-focused access. It showcased the emirate’s commitment to building a future-ready, climate-conscious city.
