Bursa Malaysia introduces central platform for ESG disclosures

17 December 2025 at 06:01 pm IST

Bursa Malaysia has introduced a Centralised Sustainability Intelligence (CSI) platform aimed at strengthening sustainability disclosures across its listed companies. The platform is designed to streamline ESG reporting, enhance data consistency, and support companies as sustainability reporting requirements become more rigorous. The CSI platform enables companies to submit sustainability data through a single digital interface, reducing reporting complexity and administrative burden. It also allows regulators and stakeholders to access structured, comparable ESG information, improving transparency and decision-making across capital markets. Officials stated that the initiative aligns with Malaysia’s broader efforts to harmonise sustainability reporting with global frameworks while remaining sensitive to local regulatory conditions. It also supports the gradual transition toward more comprehensive sustainability disclosure standards without overwhelming smaller listed entities. By enhancing ESG data quality and accessibility, the platform is expected to strengthen investor confidence, promote responsible business practices, and support Malaysia’s ambition to become a sustainable finance hub in the region.
