Bahrain Launches New Incentive to Boost Retail Spending This Festive Season

Bahrain’s government has launched a new retail-sector initiative called the “National Incentive Initiative,” aimed to energise commercial activity across the kingdom as the festive season approaches. The programme is designed to support shop owners and commercial establishments by offering reduced costs and extended promotional privileges. Under the new plan, participating businesses will be exempted from the usual charges for running promotional campaigns. In addition, the incentive allows for longer discount and sale periods — starting in December and extending through the end of the year — enabling retailers to plan extended festive-season offers and sales. The initiative is expected to stimulate domestic consumer spending, strengthen local markets, and support small and medium enterprises (SMEs) during a key shopping period. By lowering cost burdens on retailers and encouraging sales activity, the government aims to boost the economic cycle and foster a more vibrant retail environment nationwide.
