The Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, met with Singapore’s Minister for Sustainability and the Environment, Grace Fu, to advance regional cooperation on sustainability and climate action. The dialogue highlighted ASEAN’s increasing focus on addressing urgent environmental challenges, including climate change, resource efficiency, and biodiversity conservation, while also strengthening policy alignment across member states. Singapore, as a regional leader in green innovation and policy development, reaffirmed its commitment to supporting ASEAN’s sustainability agenda. Discussions touched on building resilience through sustainable infrastructure, low-carbon development, and cross-border environmental partnerships, paving the way for collective progress in meeting ASEAN’s climate targets. The meeting underscored ASEAN’s recognition that environmental sustainability is central to long-term economic stability. By working more closely with Singapore, ASEAN aims to accelerate regional initiatives that not only mitigate environmental risks but also create opportunities for green growth and sustainable investment.
