Norway's Longship Project

Norway has launched Longship, the world’s first full-scale carbon capture and storage (CCS) value chain, marking a major leap in industrial decarbonization. Backed by significant public-private investment, the project integrates CO₂ capture, transport, and offshore storage through the Northern Lights initiative. With scalable infrastructure and EU support, Longship sets a global benchmark for reducing emissions in hard-to-abate sectors like cement and waste.
