The Government of India is bringing together international policymakers, investors, manufacturers and clean energy companies through the Bharat Renewable Energy Summit & Expo 2026. Organised by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, the four-day event will take place from November 2 to 5 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the summit on November 2. Under the theme 'Invest. Innovate. Inspire.', the event aims to provide a platform for international engagement, investment mobilisation and technology partnerships across the renewable energy sector.

The summit is expected to attract participants from more than 130 countries, including over 40 ministers, alongside financial institutions, industry leaders, researchers and technology providers. Australia, Denmark, the European Union, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and the United Kingdom will participate as country partners. Thirteen Indian states and Union Territories will also showcase their renewable energy potential, investment opportunities and manufacturing capabilities. Their participation is intended to connect regional clean energy projects with domestic and international investors.

A key feature of the event is the simultaneous organisation of the 9th Session of the International Solar Alliance (ISA) Assembly and the 4th International Conference on Green Hydrogen. The ISA Assembly will focus on international cooperation in solar energy, including financing, technology deployment and institutional capacity building. The green hydrogen conference will address emerging technologies, investment opportunities and the wider adoption of hydrogen-based solutions. Bringing these three platforms together will create opportunities to discuss different parts of the clean energy transition, from renewable electricity generation to emerging fuels and industrial applications.

The accompanying exhibition will feature more than 400 exhibitors, including manufacturers, renewable energy developers, technology providers, startups and research institutions. Areas of focus will include solar and wind energy, green hydrogen, battery storage, domestic manufacturing and emerging clean energy technologies. The programme will also include ministerial discussions, CEO roundtables, plenary sessions and dedicated country and state meetings. Business-to-business, business-to-government and government-to-government engagements are planned to facilitate investment discussions, partnerships and project development.

The summit comes as India continues to expand its non-fossil fuel energy capacity and work towards its target of 500 GW by 2030. According to the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, the country had 308 GW of installed non-fossil fuel capacity at the time of the announcement. The ministry has also highlighted an estimated investment requirement of approximately USD 220 billion between 2027 and 2030. Meeting these ambitions will require additional investment in energy storage, transmission infrastructure, domestic manufacturing and technology development.

For renewable energy developers, manufacturers, investors and businesses across energy-intensive industries, the summit provides a platform to assess emerging technologies, investment opportunities and potential partnerships. Discussions around storage, green hydrogen and manufacturing could also influence future project planning, energy procurement and supply chain development.

Cognitud's focus on energy transition, climate action and sustainable supply chains is closely connected to the developments being discussed at the summit. As clean energy investment and technology deployment expand, businesses will need to consider how renewable energy adoption, infrastructure requirements and lower-carbon operations fit into their sustainability strategies. Cognitud can support these assessments through its sustainability and procurement advisory services.
