Green Hydrogen: Hype Or Hope?

With the incessant rising temperatures all over the world, there is an urgent requirement for decarbonization.

Future Of Green Hydrogen

By the next decade, there will be a rapid acceleration in the worldwide market for green hydrogen. According to Grand View Research, the worldwide green hydrogen market size was valued at USD 7.98 billion in the year 2024, which is predicted to increase at a CAGR of 38.5% from 2025 to 2030. A report by the Roadmap to a U.S. Hydrogen Economy predicts that the hydrogen from low-carbon sources has the potential to supply around 14% of the nation’s energy requirements by the year 2050. By 2030, India targets to generate five million metric tons of green hydrogen per year with the help of substantial funding and incentives by the government, therefore aiming to emerge as a leader in this industry. Moreover, as per Down To Earth, the cost of green hydrogen is forecasted to reduce to $2 to $3 per kilogram by the year 2030 because of the better production techniques and cost savings.
